Neuss may be a relatively small city but there is much going here. Happenings include concerts, theatre performances, an exhibit vernissage or finissage. Spontaneous celebrations, an opening, anniversary or a pop-up market can be thoroughly enjoyable too.

Happenings often take place with surprisingly little publicity. Just a few local nationals attend. Many in the expat community of Neuss, Düsseldorf and the region adore these gatherings.

This popular festival takes place on the forecourt of the music school with performances by established bands such as Red Night Wreckers, Hurricane Busters and Phil's Flying Axes. But that's not all. Bands from cooperation projects with Marie-Curie-Gymnasium, Alexander-von-Humboldt Gymnasium, Gymnasium Norf and Gesamtschule an der Erft will also delight the audience. Admission is free. Neuss Crescendo und Concerto, the young orchestras of the Music School performances include melodies from Bizet's ‘Carmen’, Tchaikovsky's ‘Nutcracker’ and Grieg's ‘Peer Gynt Suite’ as well as music ranging from baroque to film music. Third and fourth graders from four primary schools in Neuss present this colourful and varied children's musical by Peter Schindler and Babette Dieterich.
