HAPPENINGS IN NEUSS

Many events pop up and disappear with little or no advertising. Some activities are small or unique. Such happenings are posted in this calendar. A  source of possible surprise and discovery.

Neuss may be a relatively small city but there is much going here. Happenings include concerts, theatre performances, an exhibit vernissage or finissage. Spontaneous celebrations, an opening, anniversary or a pop-up market can be thoroughly enjoyable too.

Happenings often take place with surprisingly little publicity. Just a few local nationals attend. Many in the expat community of Neuss, Düsseldorf and the region adore these gatherings.

A Church Concert With Readings from Orange Planet Theatre 8 members of the Tübingen-based Convivium Choir, directed by Ingo Kraus, perform some of the most beautiful songs from Shakespeare's plays and sonnets. 3 actors from the Orange Planet Theatre Company deliver texts taken from Othello, Twelfth Night, As You Like It and A Midsummer Night's Dream. A concert presented by several teachers of the music school, including solo contributions as well as duos and joint ensembles formed especially for this occasion. The concert will open with J.G. Pannequin's "Morceau de concert" for trumpet and piano followed by Schubert's Sonata op.137 No.3 for violin and piano. This will be followed by "Alfonsina y el mar" by Ariel Ramirez on guitar, while the programme will be rounded off with the String Sextet in B flat major op.18 by Johannes Brahms. Free of charge.
